Sharon Saker

A course with true integrity and a desire to explore both individual and more generic 'truths' and possible supportive approaches, Material was reinforced clearly and compassionately and teachers and contributors all added something to the course.
The 'most current material' at the end I also found most helpful and consolidated much of what Fiona had imparted professionally with anecdotal experience. I particularly enjoyed  Gavin Francis articles as they combined his professional expertise with patient experiences, and was inspired by several of his quotes.

Super helpful, this workshop provided useful tools and a breadth of knowledge. Enjoyed the nervous system- friendly approach with practices spaced throughout. Loved the simplicity and accessibility of the teachings, ideal for understanding fatigue states and how to teach effectively to those experiencing them.

I really enjoyed this course and would recommend it to all yoga teachers as daily stress and fatigue is a regular part of our busy and stressed culture so this would benefit everyone just by learning to slow down as well as supporting those with deep and chronic fatigue, overwhelm and burnout.  I learned a lot about how to support my own Long Covid fatigue as well as chronic fatigue in others. I have completed quite a few courses from Yoga Teachers Forum and would highly recommend to anyone.

Welcome

from Fiona Agombar, Yoga Therapist.

My name is Fiona and I’m a yoga therapist. For over 20 years I’ve been supporting clients in healing from a range of conditions including ME/CFS, burnout, anxiety and Long Covid. As well as teaching Restful Yoga for Fatigue, I’m also an author and a passionate Rest Activist.

I’ve recovered from severe fatigue myself after having ME/CFS for 15 years, and was helped enormously by yoga.

It’s my life’s mission to support others, and whether it’s in my yoga sessions, training for teachers, yoga books or on retreat, everything I do is focused on core principles. These include very gentle somatic movement, functional breathing to help release tension and encourage the flow of energy (prana), self-compassion and deep relaxation using yoga nidra. As we slowly and safely soothe the nervous system into rest and calm, true healing can begin.
